REC'D ON 4/6/09 VIA EMAIL FROM THE DOVE BROTHERS QUARTET:

"The Dove Brothers and Martin Family would like to ask for you to please remember Jerry Martin, our tenor vocalist in prayer. Jerry will be having surgery to remove a hernia that developed over a year ago. It has now got to the point where something had to be done. As you may know, a singer uses their diaphram and abdomin muscles more than most people to support the notes that they sing. That is very important to a singer and once that it damaged, it can cause some problems. Jerry will have the surgery to fix this problem April 8th (wednesday) and asks that you pray for him during the operation and afterwards while he recovers fully."

REC'D VIA EMAIL FROM THE DOVE BROTHERS ON 4/8/09:
" Update on Jerry. The surgery went fine & he is home resting the best he can. The doctor said the hernia was huge. They did not know it was that big until they got in there. He ended up with a 4 inch wide abdominal incision. Ouch.. Needless to say, per doctors orders, he will not be singing for a few weeks. There will be someone filling in for him while he recovers. He couldn't sing right now if he had to! Thank you for all the prayers.Please continue to pray that Jerry has a speedy recovery!

"Update on Jerry. He is resting today, still in pain. But overall doing good. As stated yesterday, per his doctor, he is not to travel for a few weeks. Filling in for him will be Brian Arp from Greenville, NC. Continue to pray for Jerry's speedy recovery, Jerry Kelso & his family and the Dove Brothers continued ministry.
