EMMANUEL COLLEGE MINISTRY ITINERARY
And Prayer Guide for Networking Supporters
May 31, 2009
For Emmanuel College’s Africa Mission Team (Kenya/Uganda) June 3– June 23, 2009
Leaders: Paul & Beverly Oxley
A word of appreciation to our prayer partners and financial supporters:
The following itinerary has been arranged and will only change in cases of emergency. Except in special instances, team members will have little opportunity to keep friends and families back home updated on the trip. The team leaders will provide periodic progress reports to contact persons at Emmanuel College. Should you want to get a latest team progress report, you may contact the following two persons at Emmanuel and they can ‘reply forward’ you an email copy of a progress report written by a student on the team or team leader. (The switch-board operator will be able to direct you to a contact person for the team.) EC Primary Contact Person: Cathy Acree: EC telephone: (706)-245-4754 EXT 2818.
EC email: cacree@ec.edu
Based on our previous experience, Beverly and I know that the success of a mission team to Africa relies ultimately upon the presence of God at work in the lives, not only of the team members, but the lives of those to whom ministry is given. Networking with prayer partners sensitive to the leading of the Holy Spirit provides an inspiring framework for us to do a missions trip that is difficult, stressful, yet so rewarding. To those who are open and committed to pray for us as the presence of God nudges you to do so,, we say, "Asante sana!" (Thank you much!)

Paul Powell, NC
Paul is Pastor Kenneth's dad. On Tuesday am, he was showering when his heart stopped. His internal defibrillator shocked him. After getting to the hospital, it shocked him again. They put him in ICU. They kept him for three days of monitoring and adjustments of his medications. He was released late Thursday, but is still very weak. His heart is very weak, and he has many blockages they can not repair. Please continue to pray for him, as well as Kenneth's mom, Carolyn, and sister, Lesa. They care for him right now, and neither are very well themselves. We are an hour and a half away, so we are limited how much we can help. That in itself is hard.

Angel Tree Campers, NC
REC'D VIA EMAIL FROM DONNA ON 5/25/09:
"Summer is just around the corner and so is Angel Tree Camping. Right now we have hundreds of prisoners children waiting for someone to care enough to send them to a week long christian camp. For $40.00 you can help transform a child's life forever. It's an opportunity for them to escape from an existence often marked by confusion, anger, and loneliness to experience the scenic beauty of God's creation. It's a chance for them to learn about Jesus, and experience His unconditional love away from the challenges they face everyday. So please prayerfully consider helping spread the Good News of our Savior Jesus Christ to these little bruised lives, so they may know Him and His love. Thank you, and may God bless you!"
