Marvin W, NC

RECEIVED FROM MARVIN (CHRISA'S DAD) VIA EMAIL ON 7/10/08:

"During a recent hospital stay, the doctors discovered I have Atrial Fibrillation, a misfunction of the heart. This has added to my breathing problems associated with COPD, a condition I have had for some time. I have an appointment on July 25th with a Cardiologist. I know in my heart the Lord is going to help me with this and I ask for your prayers. "

"Just thought I'd let you know, Dr. Royal's office called a few moments ago. They had a cancellation and can see me this Wed. July 16 at 10:15 AM.

The Lord just keeps on working!"

Since our last posting, my dad, Marvin, has had a stress test and from that they determined they need to proceed with a heart catherization. That is scheduled for this Thursday, Sept. 4 at New Hanover. I will be with him. Please continue to lift him in your prayers! Many blessings, Chrisa

Dad had his catheterization on Sept. 4 and the doctor found a 70% blocked artery. They placed a stent and he was released the next day. He's been feeling better since then. He's still in atrial fibrillation and will be treated for that once his blood remains thin enough consistently for 4 weeks. Please continue to pray for him.

REC'D VIA EMAIL FROM MARVIN ON 2/18/09:

"The angioplasty and placement of the stint went without incident. There has been a problelm getting my blood viscosity within the boundaries necessary to do the Cardio-version (Electric shock) to correct the Atrial Fibrillation.

I have just returned today (Feb 18) from a consultation with Dr. Sanjay Prasher in the Fayetteville Heart Center concerning a procedure known as Cardiac Ablation. Unfortunately he prefers to do this procedure only after a cardioversion has failed. He has referred me back to Dr. Royal to continue with the blood thinners and have the Electro shock attempted before he will consider the other more invasive procedure.

Many, many thanks for all your prayers and concern. I know God is guiding both me and my Doctors."
