Heather and Baby Elijah, NC

URGENT!!!
REC'D VIA EMAIL ON 7/9/10:

Elijah Thomas Harrell (our third grandchild) was delivered by c-section today at 10:20AM. He weighed in at 5.2 lbs and is 19 inches long. This is remarkable considering he came 6 weeks early. Heather is resting and doing well. Elijah is struggling to get his lungs functioning but he is a fighter. Pediatrician said next 24-48 hours critical for Elijah.

Thank you for your prayers for our daughter, Heather and for Elijah!

"What a whirlwind of activity has surrounded the birth of Elijah Thomas Harrell. As you know, Elijah was delivered by c-section on July 9, six weeks early. The first few days of his life were eventful to say the least. However, though he is still hooked up to a monitor for his little heart and lungs, I know in my heart that all is well. We got to bring him home last Thursday evening and he has kept us on our toes ever since.

We take Elijah to the doctor on Wednesday. Pray for weight gain (he was down to 4lb 9oz when last weighed), normal breathing reports from monitor, and a healthy report on his heart. He is tiny but really is starting to look strong.

I remain in Brunswick, Georgia with my daughter to assist with the other two grands (Hannah & Noah) and new baby, Elijah. Please continue to remember Heather in your prayers.

Many of you have asked for their mailing address to send a card. I know they would appreciate the encouragement.
