Minnie, SC

REC'D VIA EMAIL FROM MY DAD, MARVIN ON 9/2/08:

"Minnie has had several malignant moles removed over the past few months. Her surgeon also removed lymph glands as a precautionary measure. She recently had more extensive surgery on one area and is recuperating at home. Please remember to keep her in your prayers."

"Just a quick update on Minnie from Lakeview, SC. She has been re-admitted to the Carolina's Hospital in Florence. They are concerned about a "mass" that is showing on lung X-rays and have a double biopsy scheduled for Thurs. April, 30.

She is in good spirits and believes the Lord will carry her through whatever lies ahead. Please continue to pray for her.

Minnie is my sister-in-law (once married to my deceased brother, Dewey )and also the Aunt of my daughter, Chrisa Powell."

LATER REC'D A PHONE CALL FROM DAD TO LET ME KNOW MINNIE'S BIOPSY INDICATED THE MASS IS CANCER. PLEASE PRAY FOR HER AND HER FAMILY.

REC'D FROM MY DAD, MARVIN, EARLIER TONIGHT (06-13-09) VIA EMAIL:

"My sister-in-law, Minnie from SC, who has cancer, has taken a turn for the worse over the last several days.

Minnie's children are standing vigilant by her side, staying with her day and night at her home and doing as much as possible. Hospice has been coming in for about two weeks now and also home health care nurses.

I talked to Gloria, her daughter today and she says her mom is mostly asleep due to heavy doses of morphine. Please continue to pray for Minnie and her family."

REC'D VIA EMAIL FROM MY DAD ON 7/2/09:

"Minnie's cancer has progressed to the point that she needs constant care. She has moved from her apartment into her daughter's home. I visited yesterday and she was having trouble forming complete sentences. She has lost the ability to move around alone or feed herself. Her son, Kevin and daughter Gloria are by her side constantly and of course Hospice is involved also. Please continue to pray for her and her family. God has blessed her with loving, caring children."

REC'D VIA EMAIL FROM MY DAD, MARVIN, ON 7/24/09:

"Minnie continues her valiant fight against the ravages of cancer. She is comfortable and cared for every moment of the day by her loving children and frequent visits by home nursing.

Several weeks ago, Minnie shared her love for Jesus Christ with me and I know she is prepared to meet him one fine day.

Please continue to pray and ask God to bless and console her children who have been like angels to their Mom."

Thank you all for praying for Minnie over the past months ... Minnie recently passed away and my dad (Marvin) sent this to me re: the service for her on 9/3/09:

"The Memorial Service for Minnie today was moving. Just as in life, a montage of pictures during the service focused on the people she loved. Not one to ever want the spotlight, I'm sure she would have been very happy with this. This old world of ours has lost another quiet, but very significant person...And God has gained another beautiful Angel."
