URGENT!!!
REC'D VIA EMAIL ON 7/9/10:

Elijah Thomas Harrell (our third grandchild) was delivered by c-section today at 10:20AM. He weighed in at 5.2 lbs and is 19 inches long. This is remarkable considering he came 6 weeks early. Heather is resting and doing well. Elijah is struggling to get his lungs functioning but he is a fighter. Pediatrician said next 24-48 hours critical for Elijah.

Thank you for your prayers for our daughter, Heather and for Elijah!

Troy Ruane Jr, NC

We received a call last night about 1:40am from our friends, Cheri and Troy Ruane. Their youngest son, Troy Jr (a rising senior at West Brunswick) had just been in a terrible car accident on Grey Bridge Rd and they were headed to the Brunswick ER. We followed them and Troy was transported to New Hanover in critical condition. After a cat scan, we were told he remained in critical, but stable condition, and had bleeding on his brain and brain injury, a condition which typically would not call for surgery. There were not a lot of other apparent injuries mentioned at the time. Earlier this am, the docs informed the family that they had to drill a hole in his skull and place a brain monitor ... the next 24-48 hours are a most critical watch and see time for Troy. Troy also has two older brothers, Devin, who is here, and Josh who will be flying in from his Air Force Base in Turkey ... arrival time expected 2pm in Wilmington on Monday afternoon. Please help us pray for our friends during this most devastating time!

URGENT!!!

" ... He was in a severe car accident earlier this week. They airlifted him to the hospital and he is currently in induced coma to keep him sedated. Today they will be taking another cat scan to see the extent of the damage. The main problem is the swelling in his brain. They are deciding if they need to drill into his skull to drain the pressure."

"Update on friend's son, Sam (who was in a roll-over accident): "is in surgery" "they are removing a circle about the size of 2 quarters it will be refregierated for 6 months & he will have to wear a helmet in public. After 6 mnths they will put the skull back in. They didn't tell me the chances... of survival nor quality of life thank you all for your prayers. Please keep praying!"
